Floral Design The 'Green' Way

The majority of fresh materials which we use when creating our floral designs have only a tiny carbon footprint compared to those materials which are imported.

We can proudly say that the bulk of our greenery is sourced from our own grounds and we are so fortunate that we have a vast supply of various foliage’s which are available all year round.

We grow a small selection of our own flowers which can be used in the flower arrangements, these are well and truly pampered and in return they yield beautiful blooms for us at different times throughout seasons.

We also are eager to use locally grown flowers from growers located within Devon and from our adjoining Cornwall.

Plant Food and Compost
We use chemical free plant food and recycle all our plant waste in a 3 large compost heaps at the rear of our studio. Making our own compost this way means that we are then returning what we have used to mother earth.

You may wish to choose certain flowers for an occasion that have to be imported .We will gladly arrange this for you with our local supplier.

For more information on our home grown cut flowers and foliage please see ‘Resources’ page.

  • Some flowers displayed here are grown in the Love to be Green garden. Also,we love to dry our own rose petals. We carefully select the petals by hand and drizzle them into field baskets, placing them directly in the warm Devon sunshine.

  • Our little retreat tucked away in a corner at the top of the Love to be Green garden.....and 'secluded from the world'. This is where we chill out, being absorbed by the beauty of the nature which envelops us. A wonderful way of gaining inspiration for our 'natural' floral designs.
